I was told to take cuttings in late october or early november and plant them directly in pots after letting the cuttings sit a few days. Then put them in a protected place to winter, watering them once a month. I was told that they will sprout in the spring. Do you think this is a good method? If the cuttings are kept outside in the winter, what need would there be to put them in the frig?

Does it need to be in sunlight or would a warm room be better. Thanks for you great tips would love to see how you air layer also ? Ty

I have never used root hormones but I guess it could work. However, someone told me that you should use gel based hormones and not powder based hormones. If I can remember well it had something to do with rotting… Remember that there all sorts of way to root fig cuttings that go beyond what I show in this video.
Hi, thank you for the video. Can you take a cutting from a fig tree during the summer and still get it to root?

@Dillstuck Yes you can do that. Just remove all the leafs and figs from the cutting. Good luck!

Hi, Nice video. You sort of inspired me to make a video and try this youtube thing myself. I started growing figs two years ago. I always used news paper but now use sphagnam moss mostly.

i have a friend who is going to send me some cuttings, i am going to try to get them to root in my aeroponic cloner. think it will work.
