  • AWESOME memorial to the lives lost and affected by this tragic accident... thank you for the time you spent putting it together, and thank you for posting it for the world to see.

  • Thank You for the comment. This ship is near and dear to me because me and my Grandfather would go and watch this ship leave port every chance we could. She would blow her horn, 3 short and one long blast. I can still hear her voice today. It was a great time and I really got to know my grandfather, Then one day the ship was gone. It was then I really started to find out more about her and her crew. There is a push to make a movie about the disaster. I hope that it gets made.

  • quit bitching about the music on hear... READ... THEN OPEN MOUTH... if its that bad, que this one up (click the vid, when it starts to play pause it) mute the volume on the video itself, not your computer, then g pick another video that still has the song, RIGHT CLICK IT, open it in new window or new tab, once it start playing, come back to this and press play... its definitely worth the 30 seconds it takes....

  • I do have it posted on yahoo video look for The Wreck Of The Big Fitz.

  • 1:36 to 1:41. Behind the Fitz on the far left, Is that the Edward L. Ryerson?

  • Thanks I just got back from WI where I scattered some of my husbands ashes,I miss him so much,53 was way to young to die,I think of our cruises together and I cry a lot, this man was the love of my life and he did so much for others and man he loved his ships,it appalls me they took the original song out due to copyright infrigements as the words followed the pictures in the videos,I hope in the hereafter he is sailing on some ship.

  • @husband349 Re Johns "This ship is near and dear to me because me and my Grandfather would go and watch this ship leave port every chance we could. She would blow her horn, 3 short and one long blast" After reading the full comment then reading yours later it practically brought tears to my eyes.
