Practice Race WDCR SCCA Spring School 2009

The view from front bumper of my SRX7 in a wet and chaotic race at the end of the WDCR SCCA spring race school on Summit Point racetrack. I started in 3rd behind my friend Steve in the #41 SSM and got to watch him and another Miata race it out turn after turn as they slowly pulled away from me. Many were not prepared for the rain which started as we got out on grid. Watch closely to see the rear ends kick out in the turns and the good drivers save the corner and the others go rallying in the dirt! I managed to keep my car on track and in front of a lot of the Miatas. There are a few close calls when people in front of me pushed a bit too hard. Thanks to all of the instructors and volunteers that make this amount of fun possible (and safe). See you all at MARRS1!

I was in the red #43 miata parked sideways in turn 1 on the 2nd lap. The road felt like ice and I think I was the first one to find that out. Definitely think that was the slickest that the track was all weekend. Did you notice how it started to rain as we went out and stopped when we came in? Another note, 6:53 is a crazy image, wish we could see how it happened. Thanks for the video!

I could tell you how 6:53 happened since i was right behind it when it did. They both slid off in opposite directions and left space in the middle =) There was no contact from as far as i could tell.

When I was on blue flag at turn 10, watching you crest the hill out of nine with a quick burst of flame coming out of the exhaust was a really cool sight! Good driving the whole weekend! - Michael.
