  • @chemerich

    poor WHO ?

  • then by your logic hitler is 'innocent' too because he didn't shove any jews into the gas chambers either, right? there is something called the 'chain of command' & EVERYONE along that chain is responsible for his or her actions. if hitler ordered himmler to have the jews of hungary exterminated then both hitler & himmler are complicit. if himmler passes that order on to eichmann now eichmann is also guilty. this extends all the way to the lowest private who pulls the trigger.

  • @stanbrekston Look, we all have different opinions. All I am saying is that soldiers in Germany were just ordinary young men, most of the younger ones being under Hitler's rule for a large part of their lives. They were under the rule of a state which used terror as it's main form of control. Read up on Milgram's study of obedience, when faced by Hitler's authority, many of these men would have found it very difficult to refuse. Can they really be seen as guilty of the Holocaust?

  • @gorgeous123123 that's an ugly example you gave, gorgeous. i have read of german soldiers executed for retreating without orders, cowardice in the face of the enemy, treason, AWOL, etc. but i have NEVER heard of an example of a soldier being executed for refusing to kill a jew. at most i could see him being ostracized or shunned by his comrads or sent to a diciplinary unit of some kind or given some type of corporal punishment by his commander. would you rape a dog if ordered to do so?

  • @stanbrekston so say you are a private under Nazi rule with a wife and children. You kill a Jew, simply so that you will not be seen as disobeying a totalitarian government (which would not only result in your death but also that of your family.) Would you be guilty of a crime against humanity or are you simply conforming like everyone else in order to survive and protect your family?

Sometimes we do atrocious things, that doesn't make us atrocious people.

  • @belinda2118 He was given a VERY fair trial.

It was filmed for the world to see,on daily in Germany.

If you want to know a real kangaroo court, google White Rose group in nazi Germany.

    No appeal for them.

Then find out what happened to the "judge".

  • Eichmann, may he burn in hell.

  • kangaroo court...

  • @Streif337 this guy was'nt a kapo in an extermination camp where if you refused an order they sent you to the gas chambers. he was a liuetenant-colonel in the sd. if he had refused to carry out this order, he probably would have been re-assigned or sent to the front or maybe even posted to an extermination camp. that would be poetic justice wouldn't it? he wasn't an innocent babe in the woods. what was he doing at auschwitz? what was he doing at wansee? what was he doing visiting treblinka?

  • @stanbrekston

    @TheJonnytheman

Guilty is who abuses system and society and the loyalty of those who are dependant on it. If the system forces him to torture than his only options are to refuse and die in honor or to carry out and live in shame. he sure was a disgrace but nothing more than a puppet and as evil as a common soldier who fights because he is shot otherwise. That's all I was saying and if you don't like it I'm sincerely sorry for my opinion not fitting into your black/white-view.

  • @Streif337 That was the mos stupid I hav read in years!!! Do you have to b the one to pull the trigger? You must be kidding!

  • How would he ever get a fair trial?

At least a lot of truths are coming out now.
