This is our first attempt at novice jumping (agility) - NEW IMPROVED RE-EDITED VERSION. This is me and my Shih Tzu "Meinlieb King O Hearts" otherwise known as "Harvey". As you can see, he has a problem staying on task but we both had a great time!

  • my earl is amazing at jumping he can jump like 3 feet off the ground for the high jump

  • If he does it around the house and you can't stop him, that is probably ok but I wouldn't encourage him to jump that high - it's not good for his hips.

  • my shih tzu earl is training he has trouble weaving

  • So does Harvey but we don't have to do it for JUMPING, only for AGILITY. The best way to train poles is to set up about 6 of them but don't set them in a straight line - put them about a foot apart. Run Earl down the middle of them to a target (food in a sealed container) at the other end. Once he gets there, open the lid and give him the treat. Slowly (over a period of weeks to months), move the poles together and only allow him to have the treat if he completes the poles properly.

  • jw how high can shitzues jump coz i got three the girls relii athletic she caan jump very high but the boys dont ? and i dnt wna hert the bone struture? somebody tell me ? i also post a vid on here :D

  • Don't make them jump too high because you will put a strain on the hips. Let them only jump what they can or no higher than about 7-8" (Harvey's jumps are 7.5" and that is the official height in Australia for his shoulder-height which is a little over 10"). Impossible to say how high they can jump as all are different and some have longer legs than others, and some have bad hips also.
