We watched the winter turn to spring
the days grew longer and the branches green
we smoked our favorite cigarettes
and walked and talked of growing up
of lovers past and our regrets
We let our feet hang off the pier
the water cool between our toes
the heat of summer finally here
and how our shoulders lightly touched
I softly sang our favorite song
she stared ahead and sang along
She said:
no one's in love like us
no one has felt like this before
no one's in love like us
i don't know how I could love you more
So now the summer turns to fall
the dry leaves rustled on the pavement as we walk
and though we talked of growing old
winter was coming and it promised to be cold
no one's in love like us
we kiss so we don't have to talk
her lips were dry
her lips were still
no one's in love like us
i took her hand as we walked
her fingers slack
her fingers chilled
