I don't think any of the RE4 betas would have been better than the final game. The grass is always greener on the other side, people would whine their asses off if RE4's main enemy was black fog, or if it had Silent Hill esque monsters.
I loved RE4, the gameplay was a necessary evolution from the dated gameplay of Code Veronica. But I do hope Capcom takes a few hints from Dead Space 1&2 and gets the series back to its horror roots. Fingers crossed for RE: Revelations!

the reason why it got cancelled is because capcom wanted the game to be available for the ps2 too, and the ps2 couldn't handle these graphics, and because it almost had nothing to do with resident evil at all, it had ghosts and shit so they decided to do it all over again

You know, I love RE4, but some of these betas look so fucking awesome. At the very least Capcom should do something with the "Hookman" beta.

@exelentdude I've actually been studying game design for the last few years now and if it's one thing Ive learnt is every company HAS to cut corners if they want to release a game fast,and CAPCOM of all companies release the same game over and over with slight tweaks.And about Mr X and the mayor I guess youre too much of a stuck up fuck to take a joke and a little sarcasm,Im really sorry about your lack of understanding there,really I am.Finally I want RE to be RE again. Yknow when it was scary?
