  • I made a parabolic solar cooker one time that utilizes the same concept. I ran a removable skewer through the focus to keep whatever you're cooking suspended. I bent one end of the skewer into a handle so I could rotate the food. If you adhere Mylar to the reflective surface might get your water a little steamier.

  • Oh! Nice. good idea. :-)

  • I love stuff like this.

    You are the coolest.

  • I like his personality, no homo.

  • Ohhh shiny! Oh hey there's a pipe! And there's some sun! =D

  • I HATE math! =D

  • you are better off using coils of black tubing or a larger black vessel

when i was in the dominican they used big black plastic tanks that were put on the tops of their homes

  • PIPE as...pipe

  • I love your commentary almost as much as the project ideas themselves. Thank you and keep making awesome vids.

  • just thread used clear soda/coke 2L bottles over the pipe its easier and costs nothing and stops the land fill.

  • Hey, could you show us if the thingy heats water? thanks. I wana make one if it works..

  • Jamie!!!! You only have about 3 feet of heating! That's not enough. You will run out of hot water in about 3 seconds. You should have the pipe exposed to the sun for a much longer period of time. A coiled section of black pvc, around 100 feet will provide a decent amount of hot water.

God bless, and congrats on the new baby.
