Earth Reborn, published by Z-Man Games, is a boardgame that combines elements of tactical shooters with Metal Gear Solid-like gadgets, Fallout-lite ambience, destructible terrain, asymmetrical teams and objective-based gameplay. This was a most excellent review. As a new gamer this games excites me greatly but the learning curve looks tremendous. Unfortunately I don't have anyone to play something like this with. The desire is there but the dedication it would take to learn this is beyond me. Again, thank you for this review & your honest critique at the end.

@smackroscoe Use meetup or boardgamegeek to find local boardgamers. That's the best way to find a regular group to play with and possibly pair up for a game of this.

Good review, enthousiastic & balanced.

I think the enthousiasm comes with playing. You can start by doing the first three or four scenarios again and again. There's enough stuff to get attention and make you want to take some steps further.

The game doesn't need the full set of rules all the time. It's fun even at a basic level and experienced players can step back from time to time and play with only 50% of the rules (which makes it a kind of decent Space Hulk).
