  • How ridiculous not to give this mommy her baby right away. That sleepy doctor could have suctioned the mouth when the head came out, then suctioned the baby while on Mommy's chest. Freaking hospitals. If this woman was doing it naturally anyway she should have just done it at home where she would be allowed to hold her own baby.

  • I am all for natural births but would have never risked my babies life by having him at home. I was able to hold him just a few minutes after he was born. He had some issues right at birth and needed to be checked out immediately after he was born. Better safe than sorry.

  • My daughter had the same thing at birth, and they deep suctioned her right on my chest. I had a midwife, but deliverd at the hospital. She was a very healthy eight pund baby girl.

  • Mec happens.

  • she couldn't hold the baby right away because there was a potential complication, not because the doctor was sleepy.

  • See makes the pushing the baby easy

  • @insomniagfx statistics about homebirth say, they are as safe as hospital births and even better, because nobody telling you what to do and in what position you should give birth and how to push. birth in a hospital should only be in emergencies, in my opinion. after i read about "unassisted childbirth" it gave me a whole different perspective. :-) and helped me with my birth. i gave birth in sweden and it is not common to give epidurals and treat it like an operation anyways.

  • @JosieTheRainbow So do I. Maybe more women would be more open to doing it in a hospital, where they claim it's "safer" if they helped make the birth more intimate. More homelike and giving the mommy the baby she just pushed out instead of stealing him away.
