This was recorded at Brize Norton on Saturday 19th September 2009, where we had been invited by the Vulcan to the Sky Team to witness a Take off & display, as a special request from myself for my mother, who had introduced me to the Vulcan at airshows at an early age. Apologies for the footage as it's not the best thanks to an age old camcorder, but hopefully the Vulcan howl will come across well on here from our priviledged position on the balcony of the Brize control tower - a big thanks to the VTTS team, in particular Robert Pleming & Mike Pollitt, as well as the air crew that we met on the day.

Sunshine greeted the take off but about an hour later on her return the skies had changed completely!

Please visit http://www.vulcantothesky.org/ and donate to help keep the Delta Lady in the skies for years to come!

  • Guh, that howl made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on edge...amazing.

  • Brilliant, just brilliant. Every time I hear that Vulcan howl the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

  • She has the most amazing, haunting howl! Brings tears to my eyes with overwhelming emotions when I heard this take off howl! Seen her flying this summer over Windermere, my spine shuddered and my heart took off with her! I am going to see her next Tuesday at her hangar in Doncaster; why oh why is she not protected as a national treasure? The Vulcan to the Sky Trust should not have to struggle to keep this amazing bird in the skies for us all to marvel and treasure and thank for out freedom....

  • cheers for that Jeff, superb, what a sound, awesome!
