U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman talks about health care reform, including his role in the debate and his legislative priorities. As a member of both the Senate Finance and the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committees, Bingaman will play a crucial role structuring this years health care reform.
The Republicans will never sign on to any meaningful reform so why are Dems still seeking their approval? They had their chance to get input into a real reform plan but they refused. Let's move on and pass health care reform via the Reconciliation procedures so we only need 51 votes

Senator, do not allow the Free Market to fail us in Health as they have failed us in Wealth! We can always innovate and work harder to make more money, we cannot innovate and work harder to get back time lost to health issues, capacity lost to disease and life lost to health-issue related death!

I like the analogy of having private police departments and every policeman being like "dog the bounty hunter", because that is what our health care system in the US is.

Sen. Bringaman, I support a public option; and most Americans do as well support this option. Medicaid and Medicare already reduce the risk that health insurance companies have, they still cherry pick from people that are not covered. Health insurance companies need an injection of competition from a public plan option, and they will probably adapt and not perish.
