This is a video with close ups of the fingering for Santana's "Samba pa ti".

The guitar is my Strat Relic going through a POD XT.

  • zabelos - nice video! Thanks. Now for my stupid(beginner) question: how do you get that sound? Is it all amp? is it a pedal or something? I'd like to get the same sound, and also would like to get the same sound that I hear in some of the how-to's vids for surf guitar. I've got a cheap squire strat and but don't know if I need anything besides an amp... thanks

  • @kctechie Hey, thanks for the comment! The sound is POD XT. If you want to get a surf sound from an emulation device I suppose you can use a clean amp with some tremolo...

  • guitar is preety beat up, sure it has alot of stories to tell.

  • @unibrow9

Naah. It is a "homemade" relic. Check out the video on "Homemade relic Yngwie strat"...

    Thanks anyway!

  • Zabelos: uhm.. this is a stupid question from a stupid newbe (me) :

Why in other videos people plays this song on the "upper" part of the guitar's neck?

It sounds the same to me but I can't help wondering why other people uses different frets to get the same sound... is there a reason for that? Is it harder , easier ?

Any way, hope you don't mind my stupid question... I'm trying to learn from a computer program called Guitar - pro so... =)

  • @lisergicdreamer

No question from someone learning is stupid!

The same notes on the guitar neck can be found on different strings and frets. They sound slightly different and can be played in different ways, eg an open G on the third string cannot be played with vibrato like the same G note on the fifth fret of the fourth string.

Keep at it. All my best!
