Queens, NY based Blues Control are the duo of Lea Cho and Russ Waterhouse, and are right now preparing their first long European tour ever, after debuting in the continent at the K-RAA-K Festival in Belgium.
Their work, released on seminal contemporary underground labels such as Siltbreeze, Fusetron or Holy Mountain, is characterized by spaced out church-lady keyboard patterns, done in rock vocabularies and possessing metrics that belong solely to the realm of freedom and singularity. Their pieces, really well measured pictures of color & discontent saturated fuzz, sound like theyre somewhere neither here on earth nor there in the outer realms of space. They seem to exist on their own sphere of feeling, altercating between the most particular lulls and the mightiest of pentatonic anthems. All pure warmness, intimacy and total sonic independence, the guys put their guitars, synths and old vintage analog gear for some of the most unique and wonderful music coming out of the US underground (or any other place) this decade. As essential and free as they come, ready to hit Europe after a ton of dates in the past few years in the states. Having just released their contribution for Sub Pop's Singles Club, they're readying the release of their forthcoming album in July, coming out on the Siltbreeze imprint.

Essential freeform exploration unit from Santo Tirso, Portugal (recently relocated in Lisbon), on their first European tour. Duo of Joana da Conceição (keyboards,electronics) and André Ferreira (guitar), they're putting out their third full-length, 'Sensação do Princípio', this Spring on Siltbreeze, after releases on local imprint Ruby Red and on Italian label Qbico, one of the main European houses for vital avant-garde produce.
Evergrowing young masters of circular trance, they build vibrant layers of trip, demolition and life out of pure mutilated sound, uncovering new realities thru the most spiritual of frictions.
Although akin to work by Throbbing Gristle or This Heat, their vocabulary, metrics and choice of forms stand as a truly rare stance of intrepid originality and deeply focused work in the context of the last few years of musicmaking. As dangerous and as fascinating as they come.
