Cultural Tourism DC (CTdc) strengthens the image and economy of Washington, DC, neighborhood by neighborhood, by linking more than 200 DC cultural and neighborhood organizations with partners in tourism, hospitality, government, and business.

CTdc offers an innovative model for maximizing the economic impact of cultural tourism in urban neighborhoods and helps residents and tourists discover and experience Washington's authentic arts and culture.

A world capital as well as a national capital, Washington, DC boasts more than 175 foreign embassies, residences, chanceries, and diplomatic missions. With Passport DC you can explore many of these exciting institutions in just one day.

Wander the halls and let your imagination leap across the globe as you visit more than 30 embassies on Saturday, May 2, 2009. While youre there, take note of events offered throughout the year so you can revisit your favorite countries!

Cultural Tourism DC provided free shuttles on May 2 from 10 am - 4 pm. Three shuttles leave from 1900 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (Dupont Circle) and will loop Massachusetts Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, and lower New Hampshire Avenue.

MHz Networks and Cultural Tourism DC have joined together to promote the mission of global understanding and world perspective during Passport DC 2009.

MHz Networks will have two tented lounge areas along the visitor route on Saturday, May 2 where participants can stop to take a rest, cool down, learn more about MHz Networks programming in DC, and pick up some freebie items and special offers from MHz Networks.

  • I have a friend who was born in Kazakstan and recently became a United States citizen but when my friend wanted to also maintain a passport from the birth country was not only denied by a representative of the U.S. embassy but was treated very, very offensively. Is this typical?!?
