Robben Ford solo - Caravan

This is the other solo I like from that Echoes of Ellington Vol. 2 laserdisc. (Yes, laserdisc.) As I upload this, Robben is actually traveling around giving guitar clinics. You might want to check his Web site to see if he's doing one near you. I'm going to go to one, and I hope some of his greatness rubs off on me. So much of the tone is in his fingers, though. I think some things just can't be taught. We'll see...

Man Robben really can play. But he sure as hoot can't sing and why should he? I always thought he was such a waste of talent. I just don't get why he would rather be a lousy blues singer when he could have been one of the greatest jazz / fusion players....
