Apologist, musician and graphic designer Doug Powell provides a clear, succinct and very helpful primer on what it means to give a "reason" or a "defense" of the hope that is in the heart of every true Christian. You can learn more about Doug, his ministry and artistry by visiting www.selflessdefense.com and www.dougpowell.com. And you can get a copy of his excellent "QuickSource Guide to Christian Apologetics" here at www.vorthosforum.com.

  • didn't st. Paul say he had become everything to everyone, using the doctrines of the pagans everywhere by taking their beliefs and gave them to Jesus?

    the personal apologetic style you claim is a good thing, as most will just negate a honest discussion when confronted with a non-believer like fanatical Dr. Craig fans

  • How fortunate that everyone who doesn't believe is 'secretly deceiving themself'. The idea that a person can be in self-denial is one of the classic unfalsifiable positions, as it can apply to any person. Perhaps you're Hindu but in self denial. Perhaps you're gay but secretly self-deceptive. You can't prove or disprove those things, yet you do when the bible says so. Where did your logic go?

  • @fraterlucifer888 apologetics doesn't equal apology in the dictionary, my friend.

  • apologetics = bullshit , just like the kid who ddnt read the book for his book report in school

    evangelism = spreading bullshit,thru intolerance of aposing ideas

    faith = knowledge from experience that inspires trust that the experience will continue or repeat

    apology = admitting a wrong

    love = the law,love under will

    blessing = my wish for all of you

  • Excellent video. I think one of the biggest problems for the one who uses apologetics is viewing it as a non-negotiable element in the gospel. We should always remember that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. Apologetics is very important to handle objections, but if it overshadows the cross it is just arguments and banter. Very well-done short treatise on apologetics.

  • Thanks for this. Very helpful.

  • Doug Powells' you tube account is "musickle"
