  • That looks like Wayne's church in Miami Lakes. Wish I knew about it, as Wayne and I havent seen each other in over 30 years. Sorry I missed it. I was trying to figure out which musicans showed up, but its been so many years, hard to tell.

  • @abuiltmale , Yeah it is his church. They try to do it every year or two years around the same time.

  • Is that Wayne ??? i thought he died .

  • @shakedownstreet48 , Haha, no he hasn't died, still alive and amazing as ever.

  • This is great! You can never be too old to jam!

  • I saw Wayne and the CC Riders at the Happy Medium in Chicago in the 60's also in Indy. Best and tightest group ever! I just found out that Annie Clements, bassest for Sugarland's dad played in the CC Riders.

  • @ swp1604, yes Annies' dad is Cranston Clements. who lives & plays in N.O's. She was gifted David Lee Watson's bass by me & her father after David passed ( who was a Rider in the mid 70's) that was given to him by Jaco, Chuck Jacobs ( who played with Kenny Rogers for mnay yrs) played with Wayne briefly then David. Annie rarely plays his bass publicly any more due to fear of it being stolen for obvious reasons.

  • @ shakedown, that must have been right after I left. I played the old Flamingo or the International. what was the drummers' name?

  • @drumncook It was 1976 at The Aladdi what fun times they were. He would do two shows a night 6 nights a week and i would see every one of them.

  • @shakedownstreet48 I worked with wayne from 71 to 74. was this time you're taling about?

  • My then boyfriend, later husband, played 2nd drummer with Wayne and the boys in 1967. Great memories of the Happy Medium in Chicago. We drove back to FL in an entourage of cars singing Goin' Back to Miami with the windows down so the whole world could hear us ... all the way home! Great memories!

  • Wayne and the legendary CC Riders are THE definition of blue eyed soul from a great era when club bands had to "get good or GET OUT ! "

  • Back to the days of great show bands and Wayne's was the best and most exciting. He played several clubs in the Chicago area, The Castaways, the Happy Medium, just to name a few. He was noted for his demolishing of ceilings, bar stools, liquor bottles and more. Nobody could work a crowd up better. At the Woodbury 67 Club in Muncie, IN when, while performing he picked up a chair and as he pretended to throw it thru a plate glass window the crowd cheered him on so to do it, he did. Amazing!!!

  • The Original - The One & Only , The White Knight from Alligator Alley -

Pastor Wayne Cockran , He did it before any of the others copied him !

    Praise Jesus f

  • Looks like Mike Verbois on Bari sax. I wish I could have been there, I played with the Riders in 1965 when it all got started.

  • FABULOUS , PRAISE JESUS
