Yuzo Koshiro's influences in music

A selection of tracks that may have influenced Yuzo Koshiro during the early 90's when he composed the Streets of Rage soundtrack. First you will hear the track, or two, that was produced by the artist, then the Yuzo Koshiro track it relates to. Included an obvious sample with Super Adventure Island too, which was also composed by Yuzo Koshiro. Cycle ii was composed by Motohiro Kawashima, using Yuzo's Automated Composing System that produced minimal detroit style techno music.

I used to think that "pump up the jam" was the inspiration to the boss music on SOR1, but then i heard this track. Check out.
