  • Absolutely beautiful , have watched this several times in a row now , with a tear in my eye. I have watched different singers perform this , but Dawn Upshaw seems to put so much genuine emotion behind it that I always prefer her to the more recent singers .

  • Just watched and cried AGAIN, to see what is actually being 'sung', makes it even more emotive.. My heart is aching and I can only heap praise on the Maestro who composed this fantastic piece of work..

    *sighs* :0)x

  • Oh my ... Just from the opening phrases, I have chills up and down my arms and a heart filled with sorrow... This always makes me cry, it's beauty and sadness permeate my whole being..

Gorecki certainly knew how to make us think as our hearts bleed, for the 'Sorrowful souls'..

    Wonderful, emotive and truly sublime...

Thanks for posting this utter gem @hosierysounds, it is truly breathtaking.

Best regards and wishes from Wales .. :0)x

  • Truly sublime, a wonderful piece of music. Dawn Upshaw's mellifluous voice is transcendent.

  • Dawn Upshaw truly makes these words sound real.
