The twelfth mission of Tony Hawk's Underground.
Mission Overview:
Apparently, the drug dealers are letting Eric get a head start, and he decided to use it by hanging out with Headstone Harry. He says he can bang up a ramp that's as long as a bridge and perfectly formed and cut, if you can get him five pieces of scrap metal.
I'm not saying this game is realistic, but... come on.

Part of it is practice, part of it is upgrades. At this point, you can only up your skitch stat... three times, I think. It really does help.

I assume you mean the skitching part-

It's a bit hard to explain. Make sure you let go so that you're right in front of the ramp. Meaning you don't have to turn mid-way. But if you wait to long, the car will turn and you'll've missed your chance.
