Fearless

I am fearless
spouting the words on my mind
as flames from my lips
giving halos to those I love
singeing myself
instead of suppressing the fire

I am bold
a dark red wine
cherry stained whence I speak
marking my path on a white carpet
and leaving in my place
a lingering fragrance

I am soft
nougat under my shell
break down the wall
and I melt with love
I choose my simple candy sweet
instead of breaking hard crystals

I may confuse
but not from fickle temperament
I stand upright, true to self,
in the face of womanly characteristics
sometimes more man
sometimes more woman
but always just me.
