Constitution Rap

Dedicated to my 8th grade history students at Patrick Henry.

Constitution Rap

We go by the name of Federalist
And we come from most states highly populist.

Most of our members you have likely seen
On your money or on the television screen.

Hamilton, Washington, James Madison
Went to the Convention screamin' "Hey, yo son!"

"We need a Constitution that will be
Respected by all for the world to see."

Now the Anti-Federalists that we all know
Kept us in check, toe to toe.

Henry, Adams, and others the same
Didn't like the document with the new name:

Constitution of the U.S. because they said
It didn't have a Bill of Rights so they would vote it dead.

Now they also believed that it became too strong.
In the eyes of many, this was wrong.

The Federalists not likin' what they heard
Proposed a plan that they would change some words.

Amendments, changes, this is what they saw
As an opportunity to change the law.

They would propose a plan after it was ratified
Leaving everybody partially satisfied.

Now you know the story of how it came to be.
