AMD, in my opinion, are awesome! They are cheeper than an intel processor and they have all the performance I need! I have the amd fx-4100 and it runs games and video perfectly! And for £80 you can't go wrong!

Yeah, let's keep buying Intel's x86 and stop progress to wider x64 support. x86 a standard from 1960, oh yeah bleeding-edge right there.

Actually, AMD is making HSA to be an improvement of x64, like how x64 was an improvement over x86. HSA will change a lot of how computers work. Things will run faster without any work on the user's part, and very little on the developer's part. AMD does all the rest.

At least they limit it to one line of chips, unlike Intel.

and just like the i7 and core 2, between C2 and Ci is practically no performance difference, except that intel try to conceal.

Does anyone have a link to AMD's CPU roadmap?

I can't wait to try the A8 3870K APU which AMD gave to me (it was a Twitter giveaway). This thing is probably going to blow past everything (judging by the Passmark benchmarks). However, I have yet to buy a motherboard to put it in.

I do that through the BIOS, but I believe on the Asus ROG series motherboards, you can do that through an application while running Windows.

I have the nvidia gts 450. I got it for £45 and it is an amazing gpu for the price! It can't run ultra graphics but it can do high graphics just fine!

Yeah the importance of CPU power is often overstated, doesn't mean we should go with Atom like CPU's, but even Bulldozer CPU's in gaming rigs aren't used to their full potential, which is why the idea with AMD's APU's are so good, it's so balanced an approach, and of course, it will really show it's teeth when HSA gets implemented.
