@musickid802 You aren't very superior if that was your 8th grade science class; almost everyone did that in the 3rd grade. But I think they knew that, they were just trying to disseminate that notion to be nonsensical, in that it perceived the ocean in entirety evaporating. An ocean would hardly be prone to such a temperature that it could be defined as "empty". I believe that the "empty" part signifies a single, unending plane of water, resiliently omnibus, where once was land and life.

@z4pskim yes it can. the water from the ocean evaporates, turns into water vapor, goes into the clouds, turns into rain, hits the earth's surface, evaporates, turns to water vapor and so on. its called the water cycle. go back to 8th grade science

I think the song has a pretty self-explanatory meaning. Global Warming and how the world is going to be if we don't get off our ass and change. Lyrics proving it's global warming:

"I saw a bear on TV and his friends were all drowning because their homes were turning to water"

The entire chorus. "sun's a little brighter", "icicles melt away", and a slow moving global warming cause could be the ocean evaporating- "dive in the empty ocean"
