http://www.fulbright.be - This video by the Fulbright Commission for Educational Exchange between the United States, Belgium, and Luxembourg explains what services the Advising Center can provide students who are thinking about continuing their education and studying at universities in America. For more info: http://www.fulbright.be

The Advising Center of the Commission for Educational Exchange offers information about undergraduate and graduate level studies, professional programs, intensive English courses and scholarship opportunities. Besides maintaining a large collection of materials from U.S. institutions, the Center also produces guide books that help prospective students understand the U.S. Higher Education system, admissions requirements, application procedures and financial aid options. To assist students with their preparations, the Center supllies registration bulletins and practice materials for standardized tests, as well as reference books and writing guides for university applications.

While its primary focus is American higher education, the Center also offers limited information about primary and secondary education, youth exchange programs and internships. The Center maintains computer stations with internet access to help visitors search for information, contact institutions and complete on-line application forms.

The Commission administers several Fulbright Grant Programs for citizens of Belgium and Luxembourg. These competitions are open to individuals seeking master's degrees, doctoral degrees, pre-doctoral research experience or post-doctoral research/lecturing positions at American institutions. In addition, there are special programs for language training assistants (French, Dutch and German) and secondary school teachers.

The Brussels Commission also manages the Fulbright-Schuman program, which is for research and/or post-graduate study on EU affairs or US-EU relations at an accredited American university or independent research center. This program is open to citizens of all 27 EU member states.
