can't believe she didn't medal, that was a great perfromance. She just has bad luck in the olympics event finals. She could have won gold in floor and vault in 2008 but she made mistakes :( But she still won the team gold, all the memebers of 2008 chinese team were very talented but it's a fact, they wouldn't even have a chance to win gold without Cheng Fei.

Ballet and gymnastics is just a match made in heaven

Even without the two out of bounds she was underscored. Ponor got a 9.750, and while I love Ponor on beam, without the out of bounds she would have only gotten her a 9.612, and including the fact that Fei does a Double-Double and her second pass is the most exciting of Ponors routine, in addition to the incomparable artistry Fei shows on floor compared to Ponor.

such an amazing presence even then. she looks less cheerful now and more wise.... she looks young!

@lovepandas thanks its all cleared up! If you search them on wiki it tell you the family name. I also searched chinese names.

@gymnastagirl141009 Cheng and Jiang are family names, Fei and Yuyuan are the given names.

@mfsx5ip2 so is jiangs first name yuyuan or jiang? Or given name i should say. But thanks. That cleared up a lot!! Wait so if fei had a sisyer they would calling her cheng too?;/ confusing
When Tim Daggett says that a Chinese gymnast is underscored, it means that they are horribly underscored. He usually only talks about underscoring for the american gymnasts. I think she should have at least gotten a bronze.
