Obviously people don't understand what the "cloud" is. Its thousands upon thousands of internet servers that store information and back each other up making the chance of data loss very low... The cloud wont blow up and we lose everything...
-
What happens if the cloud blows up due to a divine intervention or natural catastrophe?? or is the cloud located deep underground in a nuclear shelter.. and backed up on a space station server on mars??
-
the lovely rachel starr brought me here

@MrCurryeater259 what would IT professions need a laptop that only does internet for?
-
@MrCurryeater259 I'll explain it slowly using simple words. The point is that chromebooks are really easy for everyone to use, including people who know nothing about a computer.
-
So my all personal data will stay to other people hands? huh. Because it has not local hard drive. I would prefer to keep my all personal stuff at my own hard disk. Is it not lot safer? I am so worried and waiting to hear a big disaster news that Donald Trump's all the acount info that he might save with Chromebook might have gone to bad people hands. I would recommend before jumping to that new tech think twice. Really you want to put your neck to other people hands? how safer it is?
-
why not google give their pilot chromebooks to people who actually know something about a computer, like IT professionals; instead of people who work for a damn deli.

@bassemb Well, it kind of is in a sense. Just because it's easily replaceable doesn't mean that people will be more reckless with it. It will still cost you $200 to $300 and if you break it, the time wasted in acquiring a new one would be enough to prevent you just chucking it around. It's lightweight minimal design and super light OS already requires less resources than a typical Dell or MacBook. It's not going to win any races but it will get most people online happily.
