I respect the straight edge ppl that do it 4 themselves, not because somebody they thought was cool was straight edge or because they want something 2 hold over other ppl. The self-righteous straight edge community r some of the ppl I dislike the most. Who the hell r u 2 tell other ppl how 2 live? Isn't that kinda contradictory 2 "punk"? Having a couple beers on a Fri. night isn't hurting anyone. It's the ppl that go overboard w/ drugs & alcohol that r. Punk & straight edge are not synonymous.

I would bet that you know some people who you did drugs with who never did find that "responsibility" ... I know straight edge people who never found that responsibility, but for every one of them I can think of three who chose to live "around" like you did and never did find that. And success ... Just turned 31 and I have a wife, a house, 2 cars 5 acres of country property, Christ all the little "punks" just starting out now would think I was a sell out or something............ But drugs didn't prevent me from a successful life......... doesn't matter if your a user or not, just know when to grow up and take responsibility of your life and the lives you affect around you.
