In this message we're going to look at three of Jesus' parables, the parable of The Good Samaritan, the parable of Developer who was almost too busy, and the parable of the Sheep and Goats. Here are three excerpts...
The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper.
'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'
Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
The parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus in Luke 10:35-37, TNIV
And then, while kneeling in that rain soaked parking lot,
the hard hearted -- almost too busy to love his neighbor - real estate developer's eyes were opened. And he saw something that he had never seen before; Christ in the eyes of a homeless man named Wendell Hathaway.
The Parable of the Developer who was almost too busy, Jesus, 1994
Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
The parable of the Sheep and Goats, Jesus in Matthew 25:37-40, TNIV
Christ's granting permission to serve Him is our greatest gift ever!
