All 155 Survive As Pilot Ditches Plane in Hudson

With both engines out, a cool-headed pilot maneuvered his crowded jetliner over New York City and ditched it in the frigid Hudson River on Thursday, and all 155 on board were pulled to safety as the plane slowly sank. (Jan. 15)

The pilot did a great job, but, don't forget the co-pilot.Both pilot were flying this plane! Also the flight crew did a great job!

Listen to the report here. The cause of the crash was known from the moment it happened. He informed the ATC(s) and he certainly would have informed anyone else who would have asked, which includes presumably the airline administration and investigators. Therefore, that information would have been widely available - hours afterward - when this report was filed. Instead of saying that "bird impact" was suspected, they consciously chose to use the opportunity to keep the fear of "terrorism" alive.

"Should be able to" rests within the realm of the hypothetical. We are applauding Capt. Sully and his crew for what they accomplished!!

Yes, they are all heroes. So are the air traffic controllers who kept their cool, and kept other air traffic flowing smoothly. And let us not forget the ferry boat Captains, and the excellent rescue personnel who delivered everyone to safety after the plane had been brought down!!

Crazy to see so many negative comments, this was a great thing to see all those people survive when it could have been a tragic disaster, great piloting 5's
