@jrioda the airvents on the side allow the engine to "breathe" if you decide to do what that guy just did. The door seals are tightly packed when the door is closed shut. Landrover builds solid vehicles and are made for things like run around off road, traveling thru short streams, gravel roads, sands on beaches..ect

Huh? It needs air... hence the name air intake - not a water intake.

strangely ANY motor using petrol or diesel needs its air intake above water or you get a very expensive repair bill. wheher its the standard air intake or a snorkel. diference is landrovers air intakes sit higher than normal motors, even freelander can wade 500mm (best part of 1.5foot) without modification, ie extra snorkel. that river is a nice wee tyre wash lol

SOLVEG18 YOU ARE THE BIGGEST NOOB ABOUT LAND ROVERS I VE EVER SEEN. land rovers doesnt need the air intake above the water u noob. it can go way deeper then this....
