Times were simpler back when it was just Axel and Roxas. Sitting on the clocktower, talking about nothing in particular, and eating their favorite ice cream. They were never happier(?) than when they were together.
And then Roxas had questions.
And it's the questions that lead Roxas away from safety and into DiZ's plot for revenge.
Seeing Roxas in the fake Twilight Town, laughing along with his new "friends" sets a weird feeling in the emptiness of Axel's chest.
And it's his job to bring Roxas back to work for the Organization.
________or destroy him.
For once, Axel could care less about bettering Organization XIII. All he wants is Roxas home. Safe. Home... back with him.
When Roxas remembers, it scares him. This is a stranger - a man he has never met - and yet he can /remember/.
Remembers hurting this man.
Remembers leaving this man.
Remembers Axel.
remembers sor--?
And it scares him. So he runs. And his legs take him to the mansion.
This is where he'll find what he's looking for. This is where Axel finds him again.
All Axel wants is for Roxas to return. Not for the Organization. Not for Kingdom Hearts. For him. For Axel. But Roxas runs. And he's running toward Sora.
He's prepared to fight Axel to get inside the mansion and find him. And Axel is prepared to do anything to get him to come home.
Riku, DiZ's pawn and Sora's best friend, blocks the way, allowing Roxas to get inside.
And it hurts.
To watch as Roxas chooses Sora over Axel. It hurts when it shouldn't.
Axel turns to violence to convince Roxas to return. Because Roxas is the only one Axel l(ov)ikes. And he is willing to sacrifice it all on the chance that Roxas will come back.
And it doesn't work.
"Roxas!"
He turned away from his Somebody, surprised to Axel still on his mission.
It happens so fast. Too fast.
Sora's light begins to shine and overwhelm Roxas, willing to rejoin his Somebody.
"NO!"
Axel is willing to destroy his Somebody to keep Roxas here with him.
"STOP!"
But it's too late for Roxas and Axel watches helplessly as his best friend fades back into Sora.
"Let's meet again, in the next life."
"Yeah. I'll be waiting."

--edit: the thumbnails... always that one AkuRoku mask. Which I swear is different from the one I've been using. I remasked it and made it better. I was really hoping for that new mask that I did for the thumbnail, but YT's a bitch.
You guys should see my tumblr... it's ridiculously full of AkuRoku. OTP FOREVER. I'm sad that I didn't see many videos this year. Maybe people are running late, like me.
I worked my ASS off on this video and when I was finally done, I was so excited, and then there was a glitch. An annoyingly obvious glitch that I couldn't let slide, especially since I worked so hard and it's AkuRoku day (was). So I had to re-render, which is why this was posted a day late. Barely. By four hours. Freaking Vegas glitching like a bitch.
But this was inspired by NumbedSilence's video (link below) and the story was inspired by wanting to create a longer version of the video I made last year. :P
Let me rant for a sec. Skip as you please, but it's about AkuRoku. :)
This pairing has come to mean a lot to mean. It means as much to me as RiKai. So I honestly can't understand how people can't ship them or hate either one of these characters. I ship these two as best friends, an awesome bromance, AND lovers. I just want them together in some way. They have this amazing connection, despite how you would interpret that connection. i don't want to see hate on the character or the pairing. Because there is no way to twist it so that these two aren't together (friends or more, doesn't matter). To me, these two are perfect.
AkuRoku is my heartlessly perfect OTP.
RiKai is my perfectly flawed OTP. :) I'll be posting a full rant about these two pairings on my tumblr tomorrow. I'm getting irritated with the hate floating around.
ANYWAY.
