Read the New Testament where Jesus fulfilled the law (Romans 10:14) and where He said to not be concerned about what you wear or eat and that even sacrificed meat can be eaten as ‘long as it does not offend others’. 1 Corinthians 8:13 Please at least read, but also study and try to understand the New Testament and all the things that Jesus accomplished. Most atheists have stopped using those issues in order to justify homosexuality since it completely removed their credibility.

America has always been a Christian nation from its beginning. The so called 'separation of church and state’ was a result of legal battles for years but was never intended. It was based upon laws that would actually prohibit the states of the United States from becoming one single denomination and was never intended to cause separation of church from the Federal, Judicial or any other part of our government. In fact, early settlers came here to free worship God without government intervention.

You can sum up all of these particular questions in 2 words: FREE WILL. God even gave satan and his followers a free will to choose. He also gave you a free will to choose whether you will serve Him and accept His free gift of salvation or not. It's entirely up to you. God is Love and the example of love. You get to choose without someone controlling your own free will. It's my personal opinion but I think anyone would have to be insane not to accept Heaven instead of hell.

Furthermore, as to your point regarding America as a Christian nation, you are simply incorrect, as centuries of recorded history will show. The founding fathers were deists - they believed that God created the universe and then essentially abandoned it, leaving it to develop as it would. Also, the separation of church and state has been present since the birth of the United States. In other words, America is not and has never been a Christian nation.

I think maybe you missed my point, actually.  All of these specifics are irrelevant to the actual issue, which is that a being that is supposedly all loving and all powerful created a universe in which there is immense suffering, and in which he allows the beings he supposedly loves to condemn themselves to eternal torture. Using Satan as an excuse is illogical; God created Satan too, and since God is all knowing, he knew what that creation would lead to.

The shooting incident was just a reference I used to make a point that maybe you missed. The point is, God was not there so why ask Him why He allowed this terrible event to occur? It was in reponse to your question, “Why does God allow this and that” without realizing that God only abides where He is welcome, invited and completely opened up to. That’s why it’s so very important to have a Christian nation as we have had for hundreds of years.

Actually, that is a totally different situation. The Columbine shooting was the result of direct human decision. The Black Death wasn't - it was, as the saying goes, and act of God, unless Satan has creative power, which, according Christian canon, he does not. And, again, why would God, who is supposedly the ultimate benevolent force, create Satan and allow him to spread lies that keep people from God in the first place?

It’s like the email that was going around after the shooting in a public school in Colarado a few years ago. The question was, “Where was God when they were killing those innocent students and teachers?” The answer was, “God and prayer was not allowed in the school.” It’s a good actual analogy of the many incidents where God is blamed for something He had absolutely nothing to do with. The devil makes sure that lies about God are told to keep people from Him. Stop believing the lies.
