i dont think she will ever know the influence she had on my life...i started playing soccer because of her, starting using pert plus because of her, hell i even cut my hair just like hers...thanks for making my child hood so memorable and for being such a great role model

I can't think of another US national team that even got guys into it. I remember I was in Florida with my family in 99 when they beat China in the World Cup and I watched them win the Gold in Athens. Mia Hamm was primarily responsible for the growth of women's soccer and sports in general.

I saw Mia and the U.S. Women win the Gold Metal in the 1996 Olympics. It was magic.  When I saw this commercial before Mia's last game, I cried.

Mia Hamm will always be my idol, even now that I'm older I still look up to her. When I play soccer I can't help but think, "what would Mia do?" :)

well she was very inspirational to alot of people that was made after she retired alot of people miss seeing her play. because of her i have played soccer on an almost all boys team. there were only two girls and we played since we were 8
