This is Part two of a two part video.

During heavy metal's heyday, a fringe group of moralists calling themselves the Parents Material Resource Center ("PMRC") fought to censor or rate records in the aftermath of a troubled youth's suicide, attributed to lyrics from an Ozzy Osbourne album. Calls to completely eradicate heavy metal or to enact strict censorship laws prohibiting certain lyrics in music were running ramped, spawning the PMRC. Allied Artists CEO and Chairman, Kim Richards (Pink Floyd, Renegade, Robbie Dupree, David Nauhton, Luis Cardenas, Kevin Dubrow), took to the airwaves with none other than Donny Osmond, to fight the PMRC's effort. Richards and Osmond appeared all over the country as well as before Congress fighting the effort. In the end, the PMRC compromised and the industry accepted "voluntary" warning labels, to be used at the individual record company's discretion. Had it not been for the efforts of Allied Artists, Kim Richards, Donny Osmond and many other industry luminaries who oppose censorship, the PMRC's efforts may well have changed history and curbed our First Amendment rights! • This is great, but what happened to part 3?

  • For some reason we can't find part 3 in our archives. We've asked ABC Television to find the entire clip and will upload part 3 as soon as we have it.

Thanks for your interest and we apologize for the omission.

  • one word on 1:23 BULLSHIT

  • I bet they were talking about Suicide Solution from Blizzard of Ozz

  • When that one dude was talking about the Ozzy album, it should have gone like this:

Asshole: I do not appreciate those type of albums.

Reporter: Did you buy it, sir?

    Asshole: No.

Reporter: Then shut the fuck up, and stop your bitching.

P.S. Donny, you music is shit, so I really think you don't have the right to call Ozzy's masterpieces, garbage.

  • @brewer921 Donny just earned ALOT of respect

  • the problem is it started with just placing labels on albums. then it went to albums having alternate versions. then it went to albums having alternate versions without a disclaimer, now its at the point where the majority of mom and pop shops are closed and only big businesses carry albums. alot of big corporations wont carry explicit labeled cds.
