What if the thief formats or replace the Hard drive ? still we can trace the laptop?

@njoymaadi45 i guess most people that would steal a laptop will go through it before they do something to it, with the software installed on your computer you can actually control some of the functions on the laptop, like trace it, clear cookies, scan for hardware changes and stuff like that, you can also lock your laptop remotely.

I like your video, but how does it find out where it is? Does it just track the ip address to a location? And won't the thief know how to delete it, or is there a way you can hide it? I think it's already to late for me though, because I dodn't put tis on before hand and my computer is lost.

@laurasautographs this is how it works, you install the softaware on your laptop, once your laptop get stolen, you can log on to your account and you select stolen, once you do that the stolen laptop will try to connect to an open unsecured connection, the software on the laptop will point to a location on where it is, you get that information and you turn it in to the cops and let them take care of it, and you can get your laptop back, it really works, it has happen to me before.

@emachines333 Thankyou, but will the theif know it's on there and just find a way to disable it or is it hidden? Well like I said unfortunately my computer is already gone. This is good to know for the future though.

@laurasautographs this runs program runs in the background the thief will not know because its so light it wont even show up on your computer it just runs on your computer, if you have a mac with a webcam it can also take a picture of the thief and send it to you on your pray account

@laurasautographs Yeah Laura they won't know. If the thief is smart they will remove the hard drive and all these precautionary steps will be null and void. The only way a thief will know something is installed is if your webcam displays an LED light when its on.

ok with all this new anti theft software the best way to steal laptops is to take them and sell them for parts like car thieves do. thats how you get past prey and lojack.
