how to open boot menu?
-
@james25313 Eventually it did move on, but I still can't install XP. When the PC restarts before the next stage of the installation, the screen just stays black. I've had this problem for months. Win 7 makes it because there's no restart involved, but the moment I restart the computer, the screen just stays black. :(

@ToxicGamerPro ....computers that have been manufactured in the last few years will allow you to enter the CMOS by pressing one of the below five keys during the boot. Usually it's one of the first three. * F1 * F2 * DEL * ESC * F10
A user will know when to press this key when they see a message similar to the below example as the computer is booting. Some older computers may also display a flashing block to indicate when to press the F1 or F2 keys.

@ToxicGamerPro ...cont.....If your computer is a new computer and you are unsure of what key to press when the computer is booting, try pressing and holding one or more keys the keyboard. This will cause a stuck key error, which may allow you to enter the BIOS setup.

Is it normal for Setup to get stuck on a certain percentage? Mine's been stuck on 88% for over an hour and a half already. My hard disc is 160 GB. If it really is stuck, then I suppose the only thing left to do is switch everything off and try again? :(

@DarthZillasaurus yeah sounds like a hard drive problem or a motherboard problem try installing a new hard drive first then if its still doing that then its ur motherboard
