In times,when Olomouc started to sprawl over the boundaries of ancient walls,the new establishments
reveled in the most variety of facades.It is this reason, that we see today all kinds of buildings
the builders graced with variety of architecture elements from roman to the new-baroque styles
or even their mixture. One such example was the building of the synagogue that was built in the
oriental-Moorish style on the former Maria Theresa square.This building,designed by the Viennese
architect Jakob Gartner,featured huge dome under which was the vast area of 450 spaces for men
and 300 separated spaces for women.The dome was constructed from iron structure resting on four
footstalls covered with marble panels.The main façade was also covered with stone panels,windows
and doorjambs carved form an artificial stone and main gates forged from iron.The building
construction took less than two years;it started during summer 1895 and already on the11th April 1897
was put in operation.At that time, nobody anticipated that this building,in the next quarter
of the century,would become a target of racial hatred and that its demise would signal the start
of tragic fate of the Jewish population in Olomouc.The first Jewish settlements in Olomouc are
dated to 1848.The building was partly burned by local fascists during March 1939 and eventually
completely destroyed the same year by German fascists.

בזמן כי העיר החגדיל אחר גבול החומת אשר הפלה אז על המקום הזה מבנימ בתים רבים, בתים משפחות, בתימ פרטיימ ובתימ ויפת תאר. ועל הקמות בתימ האלה היו הדרות לפי תאר למינהו בסיגנן בבדמין כנאו-ברוכו ובבדמין רומנית ובסיגנון נאו-ברוכו בית הכנסת הזה הוא מבנה מעניין הבנוי בסגנון נובו ובנייה מאורית. נבנה בית הכנסת על הכיכר-מוקדם כנקרא
maria teresia. את פרויקט הוא של האדריכל הווינאיk. gartner. תחת המגדל הגדול בראשי מהברימ היו מיקומ המושבים 450 האנשימ ו 300 מיקומ המושבימ הנשימ. המגדל נבנה מברזל הישב על ארבע העמודימ אשר צפה לוחות-שיש. וגמ הקימות צפה אבני-לוחות, ושקפימ ודלת צפה אבנימ. גם שער חיצין היה מברזל. בימ הכנסת נבנה בשנה 1895 ותשלים כל-המלאכה בשנה 1897. בימי-קיץ בשנה 1897 נהיה בית הכנסת פתוח בחודש אפריל. על הגלויה הזאח משנה 1915 ראינו כי המקום הכיכר הוא חליפה. אין איש בהעיר לא ידע כי הבית הכנסת יהיה לאת כי אחד רעה ורעה באה, כי הקץ באה על היושבים היהודיים בעיר אשר הלכו ישב שמ משנה 1848.
עוד בימי החדש מרץ נשרפ באש בית הכנסת הפשיסתיימ הצכית ובשנה 1939 בית הכנסת היה לשחתה.
