This is going to be my SID-player. It is not finished yet and it will be much nicer then in this video :)
This is a video of the first tune it played.
For those of you who do not know what this is: This is a SIDPlayer, it plays tune from the old commodore 64 computer back in 80's. It is the chips in the middle that creates the sound, it is not recorded. Enjoy!
The tune:
name: Heartland
author: Keith Tinman
released: 1986 Odin Computer Graphics
Left laptop: Programming and commanding the SIDPlayer
Right computer: Recording and amplifying
Error: Aspect ratio error in video... but you will probably understand any way..
Hooray for keeping track of all the soldered wires!

No, that's not really it. I think either the SID is decoded incorrectly, or some address registers are screwed up, causing the notes above a certain register playing an octave too high. :)

Tune is called Heartland by Keith Tinman - but it may be that I've heard other interpretations of this tune. I know that some versions have drums and a bridge section. In which case if this is an accurate replay of the original song - then I take it back about it not sounding quite right with the high end notes.
By the way - anyone got any 6581s for sale? Or are there any other programmable chips you can plug into the original C64 as a replacement SID ?

I think this tune is taken from an old Fairlight demo - although it's been used on Intros for many demos and used on Cracktros.
I don't think some of the top-end notes are quite right on this compared to the original C64 playing it. There's something not quite right there.. have you perfected it since?
Bloody good effort though..

Is it the same "problem" as on the video? In this video, it sounds like there are two identical copies of the song playing at once, and they're very slightly out of phase, causing some notes to "combine" and play too high.
