There was speculation within the Gracie family wheather or no to invite Gokor to partake in UFC 1....They never contacted him...And the reason why is because he would've beaten Royce.

Trained with Gokor at his studio in Hollywood. Put me in several ankle locks faster than I could blink. He's beaten the best from Gracie's to world champion's. He took this fight with Mr.Maeda with 2 weeks notice and didn't train for it once.
Nobody can beat this guy on the ground not even today.
Gene Lebelle challenged Rickson Gracie to fight Gokor in a fight but turned it down saying "He doesn't fight the way we do".
Well Gokor knows a lot more that's whe he turned the fight down.

Before UFC started the Gracies challenged Benny Urquidez to fight Royce Gracie, then backed out of there own challenge when they found out he trained with Gokor under Gene Lebell. The Gracies were scared shitless of this guy
