Wrong. He was unhooked, so the chicken loop wasn't part of the process. When he blew the handlepass, the pressure went to the leash, which either broke or released prematurely. Then the whole kit went bye-bye.

he fell very good, with a slight angle semi flat to break the water crush and preventing to hurt feet and legs if it was shallow. Added that he simply managed to relax a bit and let things go while turning to the backside and flips away the board. so thumbs up !
