Hair Growth Pictures that I have taken over the last couple of years. With proper hair care, the right hair products and a little TLC, I was able to get my hair back in shape.

  • @cluckyclucky I already said, mine is recent. Your argument is invalid. So you can cut the "distant ancestor" crap. I'm not talking percentages. If it is there, it is there. But if you prefer to see yourself as one thing, then that's perfectly fine. You're allowed to. But I'm allowed to be proud of my father and mother and ALL of their family as well. That's how we are. You're the one that started the argument. Good day, enjoy life. Stop messing with kids.

  • @Aikan009Kurenai This argument is getting old because you have nothing substantiate to add to it other than "I'm mixed, my family is mixed, I'm proud to be mixed." I didn't say there's anything wrong in loving your heritage because I love being a Trinidadian, and I love my culture, but at the same time, I'm not going to sit here and say that I'm multiracial just because I had a Hispanic ancestor about four generations ago.

  • @Aikan009Kurenai You definitely do not understand what I am saying. I said in regards to myself that having a non black great black grandmother does not make ME mixed. All that means is that I have a non black ancestor. If you want to get into percentages, it's less than 12% of two other races in my DNA. My entire point is that African Americans specifically, are not a mixed people which is what you said. I also said that if YOU personally are directly mixed then that's fine speak for YOURSELF.

  • @Aikan009Kurenai Are you reading correctly? I NEVER said that one cannot claim a race because they don't look it, nor did I say that one should disown their ancestors. I said claiming a race that is indirect to you is stupid. You either reading selectively or you aren't understanding what I'm saying. This isn't a war, this is a simple discussion.

  • @cluckyclucky Maybe it is not for you, but for me, it most definitely is recent. And I am proud of all of it. I'm not going to just disown my ancestors because someone else perceives identifying with them as well to be stupid. Personally I think denouncing them just because you may not look directly like them is stupid and sad. A big love of lineage and culture exists in my family, so I apologize if my views offend you. I was only replying to someone's nonsense, not starting a war. Seriously.

  • @cluckyclucky Yes, actually. I was only trying to illustrate an example for one person who made a rude comment. I was not defacing anyone or anything. It did deviate quite a bit, I admit. I'm simply saying that I'm proud of all of me, not just a single part. And no, I'm not pulling hairs at all. I for one never mentioned anything about my great grandmother, that was the other person. I am directly mixed, as are most of my family. I simply used myself as an example. The arguing is getting old...

  • @Aikan009Kurenai You said "I am pointing out the correlation between being of mixed race with higher chances of variance in the hair follicles and hair texture." That is direct. Also, I'm not sure why you keep mentioning that your family as a "high number of racial mixing". It's irrelevant to the conversation, why does that matter? If that's your family then hooray for you. And if it's ages ago then sorry to say it is no longer relevant. With each passing generation it gets less and less.

  • @Aikan009Kurenai Of course on average doesn't apply to everyone. There are some blacks who have absolutely no mixing at all. I totally agree that people should identify with whatever they choose to, but not if they're an quadroon, mustefino, or an octoroon. Like I said before, pulling hairs.

  • @Aikan009Kurenai I'm from the Caribbean where racial mixing goes on A LOT. There's tons of bi-racial/ tri-racial people where I come from. And there are people like myself that have two black parents and non black ancestors. I don't deny that I have heritage from elsewhere but to say that having a non black great grandmother makes me "mixed" is pulling hairs. And since you said race is a social concept then isn't this conversation is rather pointless? Why claim something that has no basis?

  • @Aikan009Kurenai I still think it's stupid to claim a race that is not even in recent generations. In my experience people, especially black people, tend to say "I'm mixed with this and that" to make themselves sound more exotic or appealing. I never said the other part disappears, BUT if your mixing goes so far back then it really doesn't matter because the dominant gene of your parents overpowers it. The percentage of that mixing goes down with every generation. So what's the point really.
