Thats a huge upgrade from what you had, i cant fins a negative comment about that mic for the money.

@rowdyromper indeed it was. however I just had some problems with the volume settings that I couldn't resolve, but ended up with an audio-technica which is on the same level as this one which was also a great buy. thanks for the comment.

i got my mic for free. i just went in best buy and asked for it and they told me whatever you can get it. i was like really??? they said sure why not?? i walked out thinking it was a joke but they were serious. lol maybe someone who wants this mic should try doing what i did. i got in the car got home and had me a new mic.
