It's so amazing how things work on a macro scale. It seems hard to fathom that at the same time a pin head has over a million atoms, that all of this is happening at a scale that makes our individual sun so insignificant. I love astronomy. The sky is so beautiful. Filled with mystery and fathom. There's so much more to be said, but I'm sadly limited by 500 characters.

@alitosvalencia Nothing will happen to us gizmo! You watch too much Hollywood. Galactic collisions is a process that takes millions of years to complete gizmo. At whatever stage the collision was in during the development of the human species until it's extinction the sky would hardly ever change but the view would be spectacular! That's why I wish we were colliding with the Andromeda Galaxy right now. We will in about five billion years. Stop watching movies and start reading gizmo!

@dabigkid Our sun is very significant! It's the only star we know of that has a orbiting planet with life on it. Until we discover and make contact with another intelligent lifeform from another system our sun is very significant!! Our sun is very special among all the stars and don't you forget it! Honestly, galactic collision would result in minimal damages to the bodies within the galaxy. There are actually 3 small galaxies that are colliding with the Milky Way as we sit here and type this. And in a few million (billion?) years, we collide head on with Andromeda. We wouldn't even notice it. The effects shown in this video would happen over millions of years. It wouldn't be catastrophic at all.

ummm each galaxy has a black whole in the center so if 2 collide it wud mess up the whole thing cuz the black whole is wat keeps the galaxies together
