  • This is STILL the richest country in the world, and yet we can't provide healthcare for EVERYONE! This goes beyond whether your a repub or a dem. I hope you people that have health insurance, look back and see sick people refused medical or any help!

  • If you are a republican politician...you should be scared now.

Health care reform at last will be accomplished for the american

worker...thanks to the democrats who vote for it, not the Republicans who were against

like mccain against the GI bill, we'll vote against you next time.

  • @SouthernCOBoy

You assume that it is the government's job to provide healthcare.

  • President Obama's health care plan would actually provide a massive bailout to the insurance industry, a total of $336 billion in government subsidies for private health insurance, while requiring every American to buy their product. This is a backdoor way of paying off the big insurance companies.

  • @dkkght46 I don't know if your numbers are right or not, but let's say they are. So $1.2 trillion over 10 years - that's $120 billion every year. There are 300 million Americans, but let's say two-thirds of them stick with their current, private coverage, so that only 100 million take advantage of government coverage. That's $1200 per person per year. So $100 per person per month, $400 per month for a family of four. Sounds great.

  • dkkght, there is no separate reconciliation bill because that's not what reconciliation is. Reconciliation is a process. Reconciliation - wait for it - RECONCILES the differences between the house and senate versions of health care legislation ALREADY PASSED by each.

The costs of this reform over ten years equals 120 billion a year. That's about a tenth of what we were spending off the books each year for both wars during the Bush years, and continuing on the books now.

  • xiola, nowhere in the bill does it say people go to jail for not buying health insurance.

you guys are pathetic with the lies.

  • FACT: In the Senate legislation, the cost of the coverage expansion is $871 billion between 2010 and 2019. Other spending in the bill totals about $90 billion over 10 years. With about $200 billion more for a permanent repeal of the Medicare physician fee cut, the Senate plan's total cost approaches $1.2 trillion. There is no reconciliation bill that exists. Not in the House. Not in the Senate. Nowhere. If so, where is it? Komrade, do you trust Pelosi & Reid with your healthcare?

  • @dkkght46

    the house already passed it.

the senate already passed it even with a "super majority" because of the fillibuster archaic procedure abused by repubs.

    So lets have a deal"

those who are voting no to everything, shall get "zero" credit. Those who vote for the health care bill, jobs bill, shall get the credit.

You vote against...like mccain voted against GI bill. than we vote against you.

  • the president's plan is essentially the Senate-passed bill with a few minor tweaks to appease House Democrats. Right now the only bipartisan agreement that exists on health care is opposition to the current plan. Someone should tell the president you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

  • Amazing, and both plans are to force Americans to buy healthcare or go to jail, this shit isn't happening while i am still breathing. how is covering 90% of Americans anything great feat when they are the ones paying for it or going to jail ? you are nazi's
