Wax moths can devestate your honeybee colonies. If not removed immediately and dealt with your hive becmoe infested. Even overwintering your supers with wax frames can be tricky. Take the highes precautions to ward off wax moths. Wax moths like dark and coxy places. off set your supers when stacking and storing them outside. Use moth ball crystals placed under the supers-don;t let the crystals touch the comb. You can put the supers inside large bags with crystals.

  • There's a neat little home made system for keeping wax moths out of Beepol bumblebee hives on the dragonfli.co.uk website. It's in the section on bumblebee Q & A's. Not sure if it could be adapted for honeybees or not.
