  • How come the 301's don't howl does any one know?

  • @MrMoss2001

Shorter intakes due to the larger size of the 301s compared to the 202s .

Due to this the air going in doesn't have the space to resonate so no howl is produced .

  • Missed the high speed taxi, what time did it happen. I could only wait around until 14:30 as I had another appointment. I had seen the Typhoon display at the Moto GP at 12:30 and timed my appointment to catch the Vulcan !!!

  • @TimCooperBrackley

She started up at about 14:45 ;)

  • so runways to short thought the vulcans were known to need short runways for takeoff and landing with there delta wings

  • @Blizzardthewatcher

    Ah I see, that's great thanks :)

  • i wonder why she cannot fly if she can taxi

  • @AdrianNtart The other is at Southend, Essex - you can sometimes see it as you go past on the train.

  • @AdrianNtart In total their are 3 running vulcans left , XH558 , XM655 and also XL426 that is being restored to perform fast taxis again as she was withdrawn in 2006 for maintanance etc. And XH558 has been running far longer than XM655 from back in their R.A.F days aswell as now.

  • @AdrianNtart I think you mean XH558
