I did this for a very dear friend of mine. When I discovered it a couple of years ago, the lyrics spoke to me about denial and self-sabotage. The melancholy of the main melody gets me every time.
I love the hell of out Monster Magnet, and this just shows how diverse a writer Dave Wyndorf is. Spacelord, you mothers!
Take your pills, take your pets, and go rolling down the road
I got a nasty little bruise, thanks to your last episode
But I'm so cold and you're so grey, and I can hardly save the day
Think we're falling into darkness, running blind
You got troubles, yes it's true, and they all begin with you
If you don't let somebody in, you're gonna die in liar's gin
But you never wanna row, towards the origin of storms
And you locked away your heart, one more time
So take your books, take your broom, take your Little Bag of Gloom
And I'm lost, and I'm through, and I'm crying out for truth
Maybe when you're all alone, you'll realise where love comes from
But until you take such time, you're just blind
This is fantastic. There are dozens of covers of this song on youtube. Yours is, by far, the best. I've always thought that some of Monster Magnet's songs would be amazing acoustically covered. "Queen of You" "A Thousand Stars" and "God Says No", for example. You've got the skills, sir. Rock on.

Thanks man, very kind of you to say so. 'God Says No' might be an interesting one to tackle - I'll have to look into that. Would like to do 'Dead Christmas' and 'See You in Hell' as well. Dunno whether I could do them justice, but I'd be up for a try...

@djpdoubles Thanks, mighty kind of you to say so! Yeah, that album didn't do much for me intially either, but 'Little Bag of Gloom' was a way in for me. Still, ain't no 'Dopes to Infinity', mind...
