His high notes are incredibly strained. I realize he's a good performer and everything, but the recordings of Kraus, even in his old age, are much better.

@LordoftheTrapdoors I think he does very well for a "dramatic" tenor, whatever that means.

Domingo was a spinto,DelMonaco was a Dramatic tenor,Pavrotti a lyric, isn't nice to have 3 types

@aguacun I'd say F, F# and G are the most difficult notes to sing for a baritone or a tenor.

Por cierto es Lírico Spinto, basta ver su interpretación de Canio en Pagliacci, de Verdi o como Turiddu en Cavalleria Rusticana de Mascagni.

Very Good. This aria is unsuitable for a dramatic tenor like Domingo, but he sing it very well (and he is a great actor)
Of course, Kraus and Pavarotti are another matter!
